Cinderella BIO

The American rock band Cinderella was established in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the early 1980’s and rose to fame during the height of the country’s “glam metal” genre. Founded by members Eric Brittingham and Tom Keifer, Cinderella added Tony Destra and Michael Smerick to the lineup and began performing around the area at various clubs and bars. A chance meeting with Jon Bon Jovi led Cinderella to an A&R rep for Mercury/Polygram Records, and the members of Cinderella signed their first deal with a major label.

 

Cinderella entered the studio to begin work on their debut album, Night Songs, which arrived in 1986 and was an enormous success. The album rose to the number three spot on the mainstream charts and reached triple platinum status. The group immediately launched an extensive tour, often playing to arena-sized audiences, at one point opening for Bon Jovi.  Upon their return to the states, Cinderella recorded and released their second album, Long Cold Winter, which was just as successful as their debut upon its arrival in 1988.

 

In the 1990’s, Cinderella released two more albums – Heartbreak Station (1990) and Still Climbing (1994.) Notable hit singles from Cinderella include: “Nobody’s Fool,” “Somebody Save Me,” “Gypsy Road,” “Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone),” “The Last Mile,” “Coming Home,” “Shelter Me,” and “Heartbreak Station."

 

The band also released a series of “live in concert” albums throughout the rest of the 1990’s and into the 2000’s.

 

Although Cinderella has not released any new albums with new material in the last few decades, the band continues to perform and record with the current lineup of: Keifer, Brittingham, Jeff LaBar, and Fred Coury. Cinderella most recently completed a 2012 headlining tour, the same year in which they released the live album Live In Moscow.
