Best Coast BIO

The American rock group known as Best Coast was established in 2009 by Bobb Bruno and Bethany Cosentino. As a teenager, Cosentino had started writing her own music and performing with a few small bands. After meeting Bruno on the local music scene in Los Angeles, the two of them began writing together. The duo released a number of EPs in 2009 and 2010, including Where the Boys Are, Make You Mine, and something in the Way.

After signing with Mexican Summer, Best Coast entered the studio to prepare for their full-length debut album. The result, Crazy for You, became a surprise hit upon its release in 2010, generating a significant amount of social media buzz and commercial success. The album, featuring the single “Boyfriend,” reached into the top forty on the mainstream charts in the United States and also charted in the UK. A year later, Best Coast added some support musicians for touring and recording, and in 2010 they released The Only Place. This album was even more successful than Crazy for You, reaching the number twenty-four spot on the US mainstream charts and also charting internationally in multiple countries. The album California Nights followed in 2015, featuring the singles “California Nights,” “Heaven Sent,” and “Feeling OK.”  

Best Coast is still on the rise and a band to watch in the coming years. The duo most recently toured alongside Paramore as a supporting act and headlined the VintageVibe Festival in 2017. Best Coast is currently planning to re-enter the studio to record for their next studio album, expected in the coming year.
