Broken Lizard BIO

Broken Lizard is an American comedy group that formed in 1996. It consists of Jay Chandrasekhar, Paul Soter, Steve Lemme, Kevin Heffernan, and Erik Stolhanske. Broken Lizard would form in Hamilton, New York, while the members were in college and they soon found success performing at local clubs.

Broken Lizard would eventually be featured on several television networks such as Comedy Central before branching out into film and writing the script for the 2001 film Super Troopers. While the movie was met with average reviews initially, the film has become a cult classic and spawned a crowdfunded sequel in 2018. Broken Lizard also directed the 2006 film The Dukes of Hazzard and they released a standup special in 2010.

Broken Lizard would generate almost twenty-five million at the box office with Super Troopers but over another seventy-five million in home media purchases. Their standup special was broadcast on Comedy Central before a DVD release. The sequel to Super Troopers would go on to break the thirty million dollar mark at the box office as Broken Lizard announced a final film in the trilogy.

Broken Lizard is currently working on Super Troopers 3: Winter Soldiers and are writing the script.
