American skateboarder Ryan Scheckler was born in 1989 in California. Scheckler began skating as a young boy, after his father introduced him to a skateboard when he was still a toddler. By the time he was six, Ryan had learned his first kickflip and his father recognized the talent in his young son. With his parents’ support, Scheckler began to pursue a career as a professional skateboarder.

By the time he was in his mid-teens, Ryan had won multiple skateboarding competitions, including placing first at Gravity Games, X Games, World Cup of Skateboarding, AST Dew Tour, and the Globe World Cup. By 2007, the MTV network had offered him his own reality series, Life of Ryan, which premiered on the channel in 2007. And yet, even while filming the series, which lasted for two years, Scheckler continued to win multiple competitions in 1st place, including X Games and Dew Tour competitions.

In 2007, Ryan also launched Plan B Skatebaords deck and apparel, and in the following year, he established the Scheckler Foundation to assist children and injured and recovering athletes. By now, firmly established in both the athletic world and the world of entertainment, Scheckler also began to appear as a playable character on multiple Tony Hawk video games, and even appear in films: Street Dreams (2009) in the role of Eric Jones, and Tooth Fairy (2010) in the role of Mick Donnelly.

Today, Ryan Scheckler ranks among the world’s most influential skateboarders of all-time. In addition to his reality show series on MTV, Ryan also starred in the Red Bull TV short-format video series, Scheckler Sessions, which ran for four seasons.
