Sally Fitzgibbons BIO

Professional surfer Sally Fitzgibbons was born in 1990 in Gerroa, Australia. Sally grew up learning to surf, and by the time she was fourteen years old, she had won her first major event, becoming the youngest surfer to win an ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals) event for Pro Juniors. Within two years, she’d won her first World Title in Portugal, and in 2008 she became the youngest competitor to qualify for the World Surfing Tour in the sport’s history.

 

Since that time, Sally Fitzgibbons has won three ASP World Tour events, all in 2011 – first at Bells Beach; then in April at the Subaru Pro in New Zealand; and then again in August in California at the US Open Surf. Fitzgibbons finished out the year ranked second to Carissa Moore in the ASP Women’s World Title. Most recently, Sally ranked 2nd in the ASP Pro Portugal in 2014, and rose to 1st in the Billabong Pro Rio in Brazil and also at the ASP Fiji Proj Fiji.
