Tedeschi Trucks Band BIO

The Grammy-award winning Tedeschi Trucks Band was established in Jacksonville, Florida by musicians Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks. The couple had toured together in 2007 as Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi’s Soul Stew Revival, but decided to merge their individual groups into one permanent powerhouse band in 2010.

The Tedeschi Trucks Band performed for the first time at the Savannah Music Festival in April of 2010, and in the year following they released their debut album. Revelator was met with critical acclaim, earning the 2012 Grammy Award for Best Blues Album. The album was followed by Made Up Mind (2013) and Let Me Get By (2016), both also critically acclaimed; Made Up Mind earned Tedeschi Trucks Blue Music Awards for Rock Blues Album of the Year and Band of the Year, and Let Me Get By fared equal well, with an Americana Music Honors & Awards nomination for Duo/Group of the Year.

The Tedeschi Trucks band consists of far more than simply Trucks and Tedeschi; the band was founded with additional musicians: Kofi Burbridge, Tyler Greenwell, J.J. Johnson, Mike Mattison, Mark Rivers, and Kebbi Williams. Tim Lefebvre joined on bass guitar in 2013, and Ephriam Owens, Elizabeth Lea, and Alecia Chakour joined in 2015 on trumpet, trombone, and harmony vocals respectively.

The Tedeschi Trucks band most recently released the album Live for the Fox Oakland (2017.) They recently took home the Blues Music Awards Band of the Year Award for 2017.
