The Irish singer and songwriter Niall Horan was born in 1993. Long before Niall rose to prominence as one of the members of the hit boy band One Direction, he grew up in Mullingar where he attended a Catholic high school and learned to play guitar when he was in his mid teens. When he was sixteen years old, Horan auditioned for The X Factor and was chosen to collaborate with four other boys for the group competition.
