Hailee Steinfeld BIO

The American actress Hailee Steinfeld was born in 1996 in Los Angeles. As a child, Steinfeld was already well acquainted with the ins and outs of the entertainment business; various family members had worked in film and television in various roles, and so when Hailee expressed an interest in pursuing a career as a child actress, her parents were more than supportive.

Steinfeld began a home-schooling educational track so that she could fully focus on acting opportunities, and she began to receive her first small roles while still in elementary school, in various short films, television series, and commercials. But her big breakthrough came when at thirteen she was cast in the role of Mattie Ross in the 2010 remake of the classic film True Grit. Steinfeld’s performance earned her critical acclaim and accolades, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Since that time, Hailee Steinfeld has starred in a number of films, including: Ender’s Game (2013), Romeo & Juliet (2013), Begin Again (2013), 3 Days to Kill (2014), Pitch Perfect 2 (2015), and The Edge of Seventeen (2016), which earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination. In 2015, Hailee also launched a career as a singer, signing with Republic Records and releasing the hit single “Love Myself.” The song is featured on her debut EP, Haiz, which also arrived in 2015.
