The DJ known as Cut Creator was born Jay Philpot in Queens, New York. Jay grew up inspired by the music of his father, world renowned sax player Jack Philpot. Jay learned to play a variety of instruments as a child, starting with the trombone when he was still in elementary school. By the time he was a teenager in the late 1970’s, the burgeoning Hip Hop scene became his focus of interest, and Jay learned to work the turntables, slowly growing into the DJ known as “Cut Creator.”
