Mkto BIO

The group known as MKTO consists of the duo Tony Oller and Malcolm Kelley. The two artists met in 2010 when they were filming material for a Nickelodeon series, and after becoming friends they decided to establish themselves as a musical duo and signed with Columbia Records.

 

MKTO posted the video to the debut pop/hip-hop single “Thank You” in 2013 via YouTube. Within a matter of days, the video had nearly a half million hits which paved the way for significant commercial success upon its release only a few weeks later. After teaming up with Emblem3 for a summer tour in 2013, the duo returned to the United States to release their debut album, MKTO.

 

MKTO also rose to the top of the charts and spawned the additional singles “Classic,” “God Only Knows,”  and “American Dream,” all of which charted internationally in the top forty and in some countries, in the top ten. In 2014, MKTO began their first headlining tour and earned a Radio Disney Music Award nomination for Catchiest New Song, for “Classic.”

 

MKTO is a duo on the rise and definitely one to watch. The pair have recently opened for such notable artists as Demi Lovato, and they have plans to return to the studio soon to record their follow-up album.
