Taha Othman Ahmad, known professionally as Odetari, is a talented American singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Born in Houston, Texas, to a Palestinian family, Odetari started producing and releasing music at the age of 13. His music gained widespread popularity on TikTok in 2023, with his songs "Good Loyal Thots", "Look Don't Touch", "I Love You Hoe", and "GMFU" all reaching the top-10 of the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and earning gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).Odetari's stage name is a fusion of his family name, Odeh, with the name of video game developer Atari. He started producing trap beats in 2016 and self-released his debut single "Good Loyal Thots" in March 2023. Initially, his music gained traction on TikTok due to his creative audio deepfakes of video game characters set to his songs. After getting fired from his job as a substitute teacher at a Houston high school, Odetari dedicated himself full-time to music production and released songs on SoundCloud.Odetari's breakthrough came when his song "Narcissistic Personality Disorder" debuted at number 11 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart in April 2023. This was followed by his top-10 debut on the chart with the same song the following month. Katie Bain of Billboard described his music as "hectic and woozy and strange," giving a feeling like being at a rave happening inside the internet.His music has been praised for its unique blend of styles and its ability to appeal to a wide range of audiences. With the release of his EP Door to Dusk in December 2023 and a release party held on Roblox, Odetari is poised to continue making waves in the music industry.
